Adding architectural detail to a foreground building
Selected the top face of the short building on the left and extruded the face inward slightly and extruded it downwards to create a recessed ceiling. Used the insert edge loop tool to make an edge near the top of the building. I then deleted the bottom and left side faces of the building because I don't need them. Next I selected the top faces on the side of the building and extruded them outward to create a cornice. I then selected the bottom edges of the extrusion and brought them upwards and then used the insert edge loop and adjusted the edges to add definition to the cornice.
I added two edge loops a third of the way down from the top of the building and then selecting the faces in between the new edges I extruded them outward. I added another edge loop at the bottom of the building and extruded it as well. I then selected the top edged of the bottom extrusion and hit bevel and changed the offset to .02 and I also did the same thing to the middle extrusions.
Using insert edge loop I set up the rough shape of a door and then selected the door face and deleted it. to the left of the door I added 3 more edge loops horizontally and one more vertically. I then selected the middle vertices and used detach component and spread the vertices apart making a hexagon shape and I then merged some of the vertices together. I adjusted the hole to make an oval like shape.
