Modeling the Doorway and Door

I created a small cube, drug it over to the left door frame and then scaled the shape up to where I want the arch to start and then I duplicated the cube and moved the double to the other side of the frame. I selected both cubes and combined them and then bridged them with the smooth path and curve option selected. I added an edge loop on the building above the middle of the archway so I could move the vertices to close the gap between the archway and the walls. I created another cube to start forming the door. I bridged door the same way as before and then I selected the edges on the door and it's arch and filled the hole. Using the interactive split tool I started connecting the points on the front of the door opposing each other, and I extruded the resulting faces to add some design. I had some issues getting the extrude tool to work right for me so I wasn't able to add as much detail as the tutor.

Building the Door Knob
I created a cube with four height subdivision, and in vertex mode selected the top and bottom sets of vertices and scaled them inward and then extruded the top and bottom faces. I also beveled the plate.

Used the CV curve tool to start creating the handle for the door. I then created a cylinder, lined it up with the curve and extruded the front faces along the curve. To create the thumb latch I made a cube, added a subdivision to the width pulled the subdivision down, added an edge loop to the cube horizontally, scaled in the side faces, smoothed the shape out, scaled it down and positioned it above the handle
